ABOUT US

Golovec trails MTB club manages popular mountain biking trails near the old city center of Ljubljana. On the southern slope of Golovec hill, there are various trails suitable for both beginners and experienced cyclists. You can test yourself riding on natural singletracks, challenging terrains, overcoming tight turns, rollers and jumps of all sizes and on fun uphills. Golovec trails MTB club organizes numerous MTB courses, guided tours and competitions, as well as the Ljubljana MTB weekend festival together with other MTB clubs from Ljubljana.

OUR MISSION

Members of Golovec Trails MTB club build and maintain top-quality mountain biking trails that not only provide an unforgettable experience for cyclists, but also promote the development of mountain biking tourism in Ljubljana. We are committed to educating youth, other interested visitors and trail builders, encouraging a passion for active lifestyles and sustainable management of nature.

OUR VISION

To become the first European capital with official mountain bike routes in urban area. We want to be a driving force and an example of the sustainable development of mountain biking culture in the urban forest, which is included in the daily life of the inhabitants and attracts visitors from Ljubljana, other Slovenian places and abroad.

2017

ESTABLISHMENT

MTB club establishment and start of the legalisation of trails.

The first MTB event

Organization of the first enduro race in Ljubljana.

In 2023, We've dedicated voluntary over 1,300 hours to maintaining our trails, welcomed over 500 participants to our courses and guided tours, and engaged over 100 children in our trainings and camps. Highlights include two major Take care of your trails maintenance and cleaning events, trips within Slovenia and abroad, a used equipment and bike fair, earning the title of top team in SloEnduro, organising a promotional enduro and a downhill race, and co-organising the MTB festival.
